A Pharmacognostic tour is an educational visit organized by the Pharmacy Department to places related to medicinal plants and natural drug industries, helping students correlate theoretical knowledge with real-world practices.
What are the main objectives of the Pharmacognostic tour?
The main objectives of the Pharmacognostic tour were:
- To identify medicinal plants in natural habitats
- To study cultivation, harvesting, drying, storage, and processing of crude drugs
- To understand quality control and authentication of herbal drugs
- To gain exposure to herbal drug industries
- To learn traditional systems of medicine
About Us
A Pharmacognostic tour was organized by Blessino Pharmacy Institute on 16th January, 2026 (Friday) at Saitual District with 1st Year D. Pharm. students (60 students), visiting Tamdil/ Botanical Garden as it was the part of their educational requirement which was laid down by the Education Regulation, 2020 of Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The tour helps the students to gain their knowledge and skills regarding the medicinal plants. The Divisional Forest Officer (Aizawl Forest Division) also allowed us to collect a few medicinal plants for a herbarium.
